The most common movements in eSports consist of quick and repetitive clicks, sweeping motions and running patterns with a mouse. The longer we play, the more prone we are to develop an injury in the wrist region due to muscular fatigue. Like any other sport, proper rest is needed to let the area heal before the next session. The most common wrist injuries in eSports are wrist sprains or carpal tunnel syndrome. Symptoms of both include swelling, tenderness, pain or aching at the joint, or even muscle tension in the forearm or finger muscles. What separates carpal tunnel syndrome from wrist sprain is usually numbness in the fingers or shooting pains into the hand. Either way you still need to treat the injury by protecting the joint.
